

We Are The LAOH
The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Inc. is a sororal organization of American- Irish Catholic women. We have a 130 year history of service in the United States and provide support in Ireland and the North of Ireland. We are currently involved in all forms of social justice. Please feel free to review all our areas of interest.

​While practicing Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity, we will work to strengthen our Roman Catholic Faith, our Country, and our Communities; and perpetuate the religion, history, culture and traditions of our Irish heritage.

Our Four Major Principles

To promote FRIENDSHIP, UNITY AND CHRISTIAN CHARITY.

To foster and sustain loyalty to the Roman Catholic Church and foster and sustain loyalty to the United States of America among its members.

To aid and advance by all legitimate means the aspiration and endeavors of the Irish people for complete and absolute independence.

To foster the ideals and perpetuate the history and traditions of the Irish people and to promote Irish culture.

Our Mission

Sisterhood – We provide fellowship and friendship for Catholic women of Irish descent.
A Brief History of the LAOH
Founded in 1894 as the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, our organization became known as the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH) in 1984. For over a century, LAOH members have worked alongside the Ancient Order of Hibernians, supporting Catholic causes, charitable efforts, and cultural events such as St. Patrick’s Day parades and Irish festivals.
What We Do

Charitable Works: Fundraising for Catholic charities, pro-life efforts, and local community needs.

Scholarships: Supporting Catholic education through scholarships and grants.

Cultural Preservation: Promoting Irish music, dance, and heritage programs.

Community Involvement: Participating in parish life, civic events, and cultural celebrations.
Membership
-
Any women eighteen (18) years of older
-
Practicing Roman Catholic
-
Irish or of Irish descent through either parent, or who is legally adopted.

If not Irish by descent:
-
The mother of a member of the of the LAOH, or the Ancient Order of Hibernians of America, Inc. including Junior Divisions.
-
Wife of a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of America, Inc.
-
A member of a Catholic religious Order.
