Kansas City
About Us
Padraic Pearce Division 1 was organized on July 11, 1933. Approved by authority of the assembly of the LAOH Convention in Chicago, Illinois. Monica Welch was the first President of Division 1.
In 2013 Margaret Gordon and her daughter Patricia Clark joined the division. Margaret said, "My Mother was a member of this Division." Her Mother was Monica Welch. The LAOH presented her with a copy of the Charter.
We meet the third Thursday of every Month at St Patrick's Church North. We have a pot-luck lunch followed with our meeting.

Padraig Pearse - Architect of the Easter Rising in Ireland
Padraig Pearse was one of the leaders of the Easter Rising in Ireland, a pivotal event that changed Irish history forever.
We have fundraisers from bake sales, raffles, and Pancake breakfast. In 2010 we started have a "Trivia Fun Nite" which is a big success. We started with 8 tables and as of 2019 we had 20.
During lent we have a bake sale every Friday night during the annual AOH Shrimp Dinners. All members bake, and we are under the direction of member Connie Clossick
In 2019 we were able to fund 11 different charities in the local Kansas City area.
St Patrick's Day has always been our big day! We have been in the KC Parade for 13 years. A Trolley decorated in the Irish Theme, singing, drinking coffee with "Creme," and of course, the parties after the Parade.
A Newsletter is published quarterly by our Editor Kathy McMiller and Mary Hunter, photographer.
